Buying Guide: Key Considerations For Graduation Photo Cards
- Card size and format: Most options are 5×7 inches, which offers ample photo space and a classic portrait layout. Consider whether you prefer a postcard-style announcement or a traditional folded card for messages inside.
- Paper quality: Look for heavyweight cardstock (around 350 GSM) to ensure durability and a premium feel. A matte finish reduces glare for easy photo viewing and legibility of personalized messages.
- Customization options: Confirm that you can upload a high-resolution photo and customize with names, year, and school. Some sets also offer blank back areas for handwritten notes.
- Envelopes and sealing: Self-seal envelopes provide a quick, clean finish. If you need envelopes separately, verify compatibility and color matches with the card design.
- Printing quality and color fidelity: Reputable printers yield vivid color reproduction and sharp photo detail. Check customer reviews or product pages for color-accuracy notes and ink quality.
- Quantity and value: Bulk packs offer better per-card pricing and simplify distribution for large networks of family and friends. Consider whether you need announcements only, or a mix of announcements and thank-you cards.
- Thematic styles: Choose themes that align with the graduate’s personality and accomplishments—classic, modern, bold, or elegant. Some lines provide multiple design themes within the same brand family.
- Made in the USA and sustainability: If sustainability matters, look for cards printed in the USA on recycled or responsibly sourced materials, and check for eco-friendly inks.
- Delivery timelines: If you’re working on a tight schedule, opt for brands with fast production times and reliable shipping estimates to ensure cards arrive before events or deadlines.
